Where and how are consults conducted?

When we say, we "meet you where you are" we mean that - figuratively and literally! Most consultations are conducted virtually – either on the telephone or via video conferencing (video conferencing tools are HIPPA complaint). Isn't technology amazing! Don't worry the technology is simple and I will handle all the setup! *In-person meetings may be available in and around the Southern Maryland area. If you are local, please contact me for arrangements.

Does Emerge take insurance?

Emerge Nutrition & Wellness does not accept insurance at this time. You may request a detailed invoice should you wish to independently submit to your insurance company or health savings account.

How can I make a payment to Emerge?

Payments can be made via PayPal or personal check and are due in advance of your appointment.

What can I expect during an initial consult?

Expect to answer a lot of questions! Emerge's approach is to fully understand not just your current diet but your lifestyle, your history and your environment. We also want to know where you'd like to go, what inspires and drives you and how committed you are to change. Once you schedule a consult for you or your family, you will receive an email with a questionnaire to answer some of these questions in advance. This will help us make the most of our time together.

What else is Emerge doing?

Emerge is an open-minded and enthusiastic endeavor! We love to branch out and try new things. If you have an idea for a project, need some help on a health and wellness matter or want to brainstorm something - give us a call!

What can I expect after an initial consult?

After your consult, we will take some time to prepare your nutrition and life-style action plan. We will schedule a follow up to dicuss your action plan and provide resources, tips and tools to help you along your journey. Additional follow-up appointments are especially important to track progress, make adjustments and assist with any challenges. We will walk with you on this journey.

Will EMERGE provide email support?

Yes, we do provide email support during regular business hours. This is a great way for us to answer brief questions, clarify instructions or share a recipe. For questions that require more than ~5-10 minutes to answer we do need to schedule a phone consultation

Can EMERGE run laboratory tests for food allergies and nutritional status?

Yes, we are able to order a number of laboratory tests for food sensitivities/allergies, nutrient status, microbiome status, etc. Please be aware that when EMERGE orders laboratory test, you will be responsible for payment of the testing directly to the laboratory as we do not submit claims to your insurance. Depending on your package there may be additional fees for EMERGE to review the results and suggest alterations to your nutrition plan.
